I’m Carlos Elizondo, a Mexican wedding photographer. I consider myself a visual storyteller who strives to document vibrancy, beauty and joy the moment it appears.
I love to capture, through photos, the happiness of couples committing their lives to each other, the love of families and friends, and the amazement of being in such magical destinations.
This kit is everything I carry to a wedding day. I’ve always tried to keep it simple.
I shoot with two Sony a7III
full frame mirrorless cameras. I switched from Nikon DSLR to Sony mirrorless cameras just a few months ago. What I love most about my new cameras is:
- The lighter weight of the camera bodies and their lenses. This might make a big difference when I cover weddings that are 10-12 hours long, or have to cover more miles per day on my travels.
- Rarely missing a shot because of Eye Autofocus.
- The ability to have a real-time view of the scene in the electronic viewfinder (EVF) as I change my settings on the camera.
I only shoot with prime lenses and I regularly switch between the Sony 35mm f/1.4 ZA Lens
and Sony 55mm f/1.8
lens.
Most of the time I shoot with my two cameras secured at my sides with the Holdfast Money Maker
, which makes everything more accessible and comfortable.
I also carry the ZEISS Batis 85mm f/1.8
lens, which I only use in the big church kind of ceremonies.
The ZEISS Batis 25mm f/2.0
is my workhorse when it comes to receptions/parties. It’s a versatile lens that gives me amazing sharpness at all focal lengths and allows me to get really close to the action.
The flash I use at the reception is a Godox TT350S Mini Thinklite TTL Flash
for Sony cameras. I always carry a Manfrotto Lumimuse 8 On-Camera LED Light
. It’s useful for night shots and it’s a backup lighting device in case my flash fails me.
I carry all of this in my VINTA Type II Camera Backpack designed for easy access and to protect all my travel goods even in the most unfavorable conditions. I use the Field Pack to store extra batteries, memory cards and chargers.
As someone who once had to make the decision to quit his job, I would just like to share… Don’t be afraid of doing new stuff, be curious, and you may find a new path.
