Wedding | Last Updated: November 18, 2020

Hi, my name is Christophe Viseux. I am a photographer based in the Middle East but also working in France and Canada. My work includes weddings, corporate, and media. I have been shooting since 2002 and my first camera was a Canon AE-1. I remember using slides to capture my travels.

I love jumping from one type of job to another. No routine to keep it exciting :) Being on the road a lot, my kit is fairly minimal.

Cameras

Canon 5D Mark IV:  I have been a Canon user my entire life and the 5D Mark IV is the perfect gear for my wedding work. I use two bodies with different lenses so I rarely have to change during the day. I feel confident in the camera and the 5D never lets me down.

Leica Q2:  I recently upgraded my Leica Q to the new model. I was already in love with the Leica Q for all my documentary and some of my corporate work.

The colors are stunning and the fixed lens delivers what you would expect from a Leica. The bokeh is incredible at f/1.7. The new model adds the 47.3MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor, which is more than I will ever need.

Mamiya 7 II:  The medium format rangefinder has a unique 6×7 format. I am only starting to play with it and I really enjoy its versatility for a medium format. My intent is to slow down and experiment during my travels.

Lenses

Canon 35mm f/1.4:  My go-to lens. I use it about 90% of the time. I love the distance it allows me with my subject, while still capturing its environment.

Canon 100mm f/2.8:  A handy lens for weddings. I use primarily the 100mm for portrait and macro shots (rings, flowers, etc..). The sharpness is stunning.

Canon 50mm f/1.4:  An affordable Canon lens that delivers great quality for portraits in low light and/or short focus.

Canon 100-400mm f/4.5:  I use this lens on rare occasions but it can be a life-saver, especially on corporate jobs and events like conferences.

Lights

For commercial work, I am using Profoto B1/B2. They are super reliable and consistent.
