Haze Kware

Hi, my name is Haze Kware. I am a French photographer currently based in the southwest of France. I’ve been working as a full-time photographer since 2012, and I am specialized in dance, circus, and sports photography.

Cameras

I have worked with Canon gear for 6 years. I bought the Canon 5D Mark III when it first came out and, from time to time, used the first Canon 6D. I replaced the 6D with the Canon 5D Mark IV shortly after it came out but then decided to sell all my Canon gear in Spring 2019.

I’ve been renting my gear for jobs ever since, using different brands. I decided to work mainly with mirrorless bodies these days because they now have focus points that cover almost the entire sensor and they have improved so much in recent years.

I sometimes use the Canon EOSR, but lately, I’ve been using the Fujifilm GFX50S on a lot of projects, and very recently the GFX100.

Fujifilm GFX50S: I love the image and the resolution of this camera. It is perfect for all the work I am currently doing.

Fujifilm GFX100: I only had it a few times in my hands on my most recent works. I don’t necessarily need the 102mp sensor but they improved so many things from the GFX50S that it’s an upgrade worth considering.

Lenses

Fujifilm 23mm f/4: I used to do a lot of wide-angle shots in my dance and circus series (See: dance photography guide). With this one, I can shoot my performers, and get a lot of the environment and background, with minimal distortion.

Fujifilm 32-64mm f/4: My go-to zoom lens, very versatile, it is always mounted on my camera in my bag.

Fujifilm 110mm f/2: My favorite lens these days! It is perfect for portraits and offers a beautiful Bokeh!

Lights/Triggers

Broncolor Siros L (800ws) with the RFS 2.2 trigger: I own 2 of them. They are reliable and always deliver the best light possible.
Having so much power on battery-powered strobes is perfect for all my outdoor work.

Bags/Straps

I needed a big bag that could fit all my gear and that had wheels because I had a few back problems in the last 3 years. I found the Lowepro Trekker RLX 450 AW II recently, and so far, I’ve been happy with it.

Tripods

My main tripod, and the one I’ve been using for 6 years now, is the Manfrotto 190 Go!. Compact, light, versatile, and it can be set very low for extreme low angle shots.

Hardware & Software

I mainly use Lightroom to archive my files and sort them, and I do 95% of my edits in Photoshop.

I also use Capture One from time to time… it depends on my mood.

I always have my little Insta360 ONEX camera. It replaced my GoPro last year and I use it to film all my behind the scenes videos.

It was really hard for me to give all these details about the gear I use because it has changed a lot the past year. I might not work with the ones listed (although I love them) in 6 months… who knows?! But at least now you know what I’ve been using these days.

Cameras are just tools – don’t let them stop you from creating.
