Hey there – I’m Jerome!

I’m a wedding photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. I love what I do; there is so much creative freedom, and I love the flexibility of working for myself.

I originally graduated Art School as a painter, but after spending time teaching multi-media at a school for kids with intellectual disabilities, my own love of photography grew. After shooting a few friends’ weddings over ten years ago I was hooked. It’s been a crazy journey ever since!

As much as I love shooting, I also love gear. My car is typically overflowing with stuff, despite my best intentions to ‘travel light’. I also love to be prepared for any situation, and I guess that part of my personality wins out.

My main camera is the Nikon D850 and it’s a beast. The file quality is incredible, and it’s so fast to operate. My fave lens for sure is the Nikon 58mm f/1.4G, which is more about character than sharpness, and I love that it’s slightly longer than 50mm. I shoot it wide open and take most of my portraits with it. It’s also the reason my 85mm stays in the boot for most of the day.

I usually end my coverage with a long exposure hero shot, and my go-to lens is the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G. I use the Profoto B1 with a tungsten filter and grid to light the couple, then often run around having way too much fun with the pixelstick. One of my best purchases has been the Gitzo tripod as it’s light and functional, yet sturdy.

I use the Profoto A1 as a back light during the first dance and the two Nikon speedlights to catch the crazy dance floor action.
