Hi My name is Lisa Fiorante (or also known as Lisa Lander, my married surname), and I am an intimate wedding and destination photographer in the West Midlands, UK.
I am originally from Vancouver, Canada, where I spent the first part of my photography career until late 2018.
I stumbled upon photography during my time as a Registered Nurse Manager and I haven’t looked back. I have been shooting weddings for three years and love every minute of it.
I found a lot of my communication and relationship training, I received as a nurse, very helpful in curating relationships with my couples. I love everything about shooting weddings, elopements and having adventures in new locations and countries with my couples.
Right from the beginning of my photography career, I became obsessed with researching gear. I evolved my gear kit slowly after doing a lot of research.
I love challenges and wanted to learn how to shoot in multiple different lighting scenarios and my camera and lighting gear reflects this.
I am a natural light photographer, but I will utilize flash and other lighting equipment to get the photos I need. My photography style can be described as natural and colourful with a tendency towards the lighter and brighter side of the spectrum.
Cameras
I am primarily a Nikon shooter and love their gear and lenses.
Nikon D850
Nikon D750
I started shooting weddings on a Nikon D750 and D4S, but have recently upgraded my D4S for the D850. Although I love the D4S lowlight capabilities, I fell in love with the D850 and haven’t looked back.
Lenses
Nikon 58mm f/1.4 – As I mentioned I love challenges and my lens choices reflect this. One of my first primes I bought was the Nikon 58mm f/1.4 and it is by far my favorite lens.
I was originally looking at the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art but decided that I wanted the character that the 58mm possessed.
This lens never leaves my D850, as I love the character and the bokeh it provides.
Sigma 24-35mm f/2.0 – I bought this lens as a back-up for indoor reception portraits as I needed a lens with a wider aperture than my 24-70 for darker wedding receptions but would give me some versatility between the 24mm-35mm range.
Nikon 105mm f/1.4 – I use this lens mainly for wedding portraits or when I want a longer focal length with great compression. This lens is tack sharp on my D850. This lens was one of the more expensive ones in my kit, but I adore this lens and it’s worth every penny.
Nikon 105mm f/2.8 (Macro) – I use this lens mainly for wedding details. I love the challenge of thinking up new ways to photograph detail shots, and I use this lens for them. I don’t use this lens a lot, but I consider it a very important part of my bag for each wedding.
Meyer Optik Trioplan 100mm 2.8 – This lens is a very special lens. It was originally designed in Germany over 100 years ago. This lens isn’t known for it’s sharpness, but for its character. It has 15 aperture blades that create a character “bubble bokeh” it is known for. I use this lens mainly for character portraits or when I am feeling creative.
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 – I mainly use this lens during ceremony situations when I need the versatility a 24-70mm provides me. This lens doesn’t see a lot of time on my camera for local weddings, but when I have an elopement, or need to travel, this lens is one of the first ones I grab.
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 – This lens is great for anything that I would need a longer, versatile focal range for. This lens is on my D4S for most of the ceremony and family formals. I will keep it on my camera for part of the reception as it’s great for candids during toasts and the celebration.
Profoto A1 – I use on-camera flash mostly during the dancing or reception shots when there is little natural light around.

Hello London Dual Camera Harness – I love this camera harness, and it was made by a fellow wedding photographer from Vancouver. I love that there were multiple different colours, and the small fits me perfectly (given that I am barely 5 foot).
iPhone 8 – I love how slim and sleek this phone is.
iPad 128 gb – I use this iPad for quick edits, on-site, at weddings. I take this with me and download a few photos during the reception, do a quick edit and boom! I have a same day slide show for the couple.
