Hi All! My name is Micha. I’m a professional wedding photographer based in Hoorn, the Netherlands. I bought my first DSLR (Nikon D40) in late 2008. At that time, I knew nothing about photography, absolutely nothing. So, imagine how big the surprise was when I found out you can actually change the lenses of a DSLR!
Winning a nationwide photography contest in 2009 motivated me to attend a photography school. I would go home and tell my girlfriend everything I learned about photography. A few years later we decided to start our own company as photographers. We shot our first wedding a few months later and from that moment we were sold. What started out as a hobby became our full-time job.
Now, almost 8 years later we still are professional wedding photographers. We both shoot with Nikon D750‘s and use different lenses. The majority of the photos I take are shot with a Nikon 35mm f/1.4G lens, by far my favorite lens. I love getting close to my subject, capturing real and emotional moments. I think the Nikon 35mm f/1.4G is perfect for that.
I also love the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 for portraits and close-up shots, the bokeh is magnificent. Finally, I often use the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8. It’s great for overview shots, party shots and capturing the wedding couple in a wonderful landscape.
Here’s what we always bring with us have in our bag:
