This Monster $13,000 Canon Telephoto Lens Has to be Seen

As photographers, we all sometimes complain about the high costs of good lenses while knowing that sometimes you just need quality accessories, but maybe buying them has its limits. When it comes to the Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM, price and specs are both probably well outside the reach and needs of most shooters.
This monster of a professional lens is absolutely made for very serious wildlife, sports and news media photographers. It’s considered one of Canon’s giants and delivers some truly crazy specs for making every pixel count even at huge distances.
The Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM is also insanely expensive at $12,999. However, for those who are dead serious about truly professional telephoto photographic work, damn does it deliver on quality.
Surprisingly, the Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM weighs in at 6.8lbs or 3.1kg. Sure, this is a fair load of weight, but for a lens this size, it’s not nearly as bad as you’d expect from looking at this monster. the RF 600mm features a double-power drive mechanism for supporting even extremely fast autofocus speeds on some Canon cameras such as the EOS R3, which can manage 30fps. In fact, the new lens is specifically designed for exclusive compatible use with Canon’s EOS R-series models.
This Canon super lens delivers 5.5 stops of image stabilization and tremendous visual performance with its 600mm focal range and an aperture range that extends from f/4 to f/32. It also includes a circular nine-blade aperture for excellent bokeh production in its extreme long-distance shots. Its minimum focusing distance is 13.9 feet, or 4.2 meters, which is unsurprising for such a huge piece of glass.
To make image quality even better, Super Spectra and Air Sphere coatings have been added to the optics for minimal ghosting and flare during shooting in backlit conditions. Other features of the Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM include Super UD and fluorite elements that have been integrated into the body for major reductions in color fringing or chromatic aberrations.
The autofocus mechanism of the lens is also remarkably quiet despite the load it has to handle. Furthermore, it comes with two focus presets that let users instantly set the lens to specific focus distances as needed during high-speed shooting.
The Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM is available for sale now at the equally huge price of $12,999.
