We are Rohan and Puja, a husband + wife photography duo from India. We tell the story of people in LOVE! Our passion for wedding photography is grounded in the pure joy of celebrating all the amazing and different forms of love, which we get to see only at a wedding.

Being a couple ourselves, we completely understand how big and important this particular event is for all couples. The amount of preparation that goes into bringing this single day to life (particularly in Indian society) is commendable. It is our responsibility to capture those much-awaited moments in our pictures so that the couple and their loved ones can re-live these moments forever.

Our Camera:

Well we are Nikon…but frankly it is really not the camera that creates the image but the person holding it. We use the latest and best equipment that we need to create the magic that you expect us to create.

We shoot with Nikon D800 and Nikon D810 for the dynamic range, ISO capabilities and excellent details they provide. A few may find them slower for weddings but in our opinion, it totally depends on your shooting style. We normally shoot at a slower rate and these 2 beasts provide us a frame rate good enough to capture those amazing moments.

We keep a Nikon D3300 as our travel and ‘just in case’ camera ;-). The image quality of this camera is pretty good and produces some amazing imagery.

[The D3300 is recommended as the best dslr under $500]

We use Lowepro Pro Roller x100 AW Camera Bag for the below 2 major reasons:

  • Sturdy with All-weather cover
  • Compact and designed to fit as a carry-on luggage on any airplane

To carry laptop and other accessories along with our personal stuff, we use TAMRAC Aero Speed Pack.

Lenses and Accessories:

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II: 80% of the total time on my camera. An absolute gorgeous and versatile lens.

Nikon 85mm f/1.8G: For those gorgeous bridal portraits.

Nikon 50mm f/1.8G: For makeup and getting ready shots of the bride and groom.

Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD: This lens is amazing for the value you get out of it. Amazingly sharp and the VC on it really works at less than half the cost of its Nikon counterpart! Setups for the Indian weddings are unpredictable and we have encountered some scenarios where we had to shoot with just a few meters of gap between us and the couple. This lens is an absolute savior in most situations.

Nikon SB-910 Speedlight: 3 of them, for both on camera and off camera light setup.

YONGNUO RF-603 II: Manual flash trigger for off-camera lighting. Value for money, decent build quality and range.

Blackrapid Shoulder strap for the heavy equipment.

HP Pavilion Notebook 15 for almost everything we need when we are not on our workstation.

Storage Solution:

Sandisk extreme sdhc/sdxc uhs-i memory cards and flash cards.

Vanguard MCC 22 ABS memory cardholder.

Western Digital My Passport Ultra for file backup on the go.

There you go. Next person who asks me what camera we use gets this link as a response!
