My name is Ronny Behnert, a 38-year-old award-winning photographer from Berlin, Germany with over 10 years’ experience in fine art, architecture, and landscape photography.
I have been actively working as a photographer since January 2007 and founded my main project „Håggard Photography“ in 2010.
I grew up in a time when it was common to use a pseudonym as an artist, so I decided to use the name Håggard which symbolizes an old king in a comic, produced in my year of birth, 1982.
Shortly explained, King Håggard was never satisfied because he didn’t get what he wanted. For me, it always meant that it’s difficult or impossible to reach total perfection, but I always try to work and produce as perfect as possible.
Photography is a constant process to develop yourself over time and find your inner self in your photos. Since the beginning, I have been working for different clients, like hotels, restaurants, various newspapers, as well as print and online magazines.
My job as a photographer is also my hobby, so I try to spend as much time as possible travelling, exploring, and shooting different countries and cultures all over the world.
My recent series and photos from Scandinavia, United Arab Emirates, Spain, Japan, and Venice have already been published in prestigious photo magazines. Since 2019, I have also been an ambassador for different lens and filter brands.
Cameras
Since a few years ago, I have been working with cameras from Sony. My main camera is the Sony a7R II, which is perfect for my work. I chose that camera because of its great dynamic range and its noise-free images even in difficult low-light-conditions and high ISO.
My backup-camera is a small Sony a6000 (review), which has saved me many times!
Lenses
Sony 16-35mm f/2.8: Perfect for wide-angle architecture shots and also wide landscape photos. Great details, high resolution, and sharpness, even in the corners.
Sony 24-105mm f/4.0: This lens is perfect for my landscape photography, especially when I need to zoom in. The details are also amazing. High-Quality lens!
Sony 16-50 mm f/3.5-5.6: Wide-angle lens for my backup camera. The focal length is ideal for architecture and landscape shots and a great compromise between my other two Sony lenses.
Samyang 14mm f/2.8: The first autofocus wide-angle lens from Samyang, which I use, in general, for my night photography because of its high luminous intensity and good quality in the details.
Samyang 85mm f/1.4: A great new autofocus lens, perfect for street photography because of its high luminous intensity and also for landscapes when the subject is far away. Great quality in the details and the sharpness is just amazing!
Samyang 24mm f/3.5: The Tilt-Shift lens is always a great alternative when I shoot architecture and need straight vertical lines.
A Tilt-Shift lens is a lens in which the optics can be tilted and/or shifted in relation to the image sensor. Tilt-Shift lenses also rotate to allow the lens to tilt and/or shift in a wide range of directions.
Tripod
Gitzo GT2542 Mountaineer: Very light, rigid, and strong Carbon Fiber Tripod.
SunwayFOTO GH-Pro Geared Head: Strong, pure-metal geared head that allows very sensitive settings in every direction. It’s also very easy to use it with only one hand when the other hand is needed to hold an umbrella or something else.

Haida ND 4.5 NanoPro MC 100×100 mm: Different neutral density filters to extend the exposure time as long as I think it’s perfect for the subject I want to shoot.

Haida Reverse ND 0.9 100×150 mm: Graduated Neutral Density Filters are perfect to get well-exposed photos in only one shot by darkening the part of the photo which is lighter than other parts.
Haida NanoPro MC Clear Night Filter: A great filter to minimize light pollution during the night. More stars are visible through using that filter and the white balance is also a bit colder than normal.
M10 Drop-In ND 3.0: Big Stopper Neutral Density Filter for the M10 Filter System.
M10 Drop-In CPL: The Circular Polarizer Filter for the M10 Filter System filters out unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass as well as light that is reflected off moisture and pollution in the atmosphere through rotating the filter.
