Stefan Hellberg

Wedding | Last Updated: April 4, 2024

My name is Stefan Hellberg and I am a Swede living in Switzerland. I used to work as a business analyst, building reports and analyzing data for better profits. I am happy that is part of my past and today my life is occupied with traveling, weddings and spending more time with the people I love. While doing that I always bring a camera or more like three of them…

I started out shooting Nikon and just kept it that way. Today I shoot two Nikon D800 ’s fitted with a Nikon 35mm f/1.4, Nikon PC-E 45mm f/2.8, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 and a Nikon 85mm f/1.4. I try to stick to prime lenses because of their light weight, outstanding picture quality and also because they make me work with my head and legs to create images.

When I shoot personal work or specific film assignments I bring out the big gun, the Contax 645. Great camera, mostly because of the unique look the Zeiss 80mm f/2 creates. I also use a Nikon FM2, a great camera for shooting in dodgy areas of cities when traveling. Doesn’t look expensive and you can almost hide it in the palm of your hand. Yep, I’ve got big hands. For metering exposure I use a Sekonic L-758, the built in spot metering really comes in handy when shooting portraits in BW. My preferred film stock is Kodak Tri-X, Kodak Portra 160, Kodak Portra 400 and Fuji 400H.

Next item on my purchase list is a flight ticket to anywhere. Travel usually generates better pictures than extra gear for me.

Thanks for having me on here. Great site!
