Hi, my name is Alessandro Trovati, I have 25 years of experience with Associated Press and Pentaphoto.
I have photographed the most important sporting events in the world, including 11 Olympics (I was the youngest photographer commissioned in Albertville in 1992), every Ski World Cup since 1992, the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and many other events in other sports disciplines.
My work has been published in newspapers and the most important magazines in the world.
In the field of advertising photography, I have directed some campaigns for the most prestigious international brands, working with the most important advertising agencies.
I have won numerous awards including the GrandPrix of the 2008 Advertising Best Campaign Sport, 2012 and 2014 Ussi award for “best sports photo of the year” with the start of the London 2012 triathlon and the Giro d’Italia 2014.
I am the Son of Armando Trovati, founder of the Pentaphoto agency specialized in sports and advertising photography.
I have held several exhibitions including Photolux in Lucca, Canon Fotografica 12, Photo 13 exhibition in Milan and Rome.
In May 2017, I was featured in an important bi-personal exhibition “The Sport in Black and White” at Spazio Tadini Casa Museo (Milan), and will also be exhibited at the first Triennial of Italian Photography.
I have been a Canon Ambassador for sports photography since 2014.
In the wintertime, I follow all alpine ski world cup events. Normally for ski action I use 1dx mark II with 600 mm; for action all the time in my kit bag there are 100-400 mm and 11-24 for wide images – I love this lens.
For cycling races from the motorbike, I use 2 1DX Mark II with 100-400 mm and 11-24 mm. This is the best combination for not losing anything.
For underwater images I use a Nimar water case with 24 mm 1.4, the best lens for underwater photography, for different light conditions.
For advertising/commercial use in my kit bag are 2 1DX MARK II
with 50 mm 1,2
300 mm 2,8
and 70-200 mm 2,8
. This the best combination for extreme quality.
