My name is Benaissa El Yamani. I am 30 years old, and I live in the north of the Netherlands in Groningen. I never imagined that I was going to be a professional photographer.
Step by step I gained more experience. First I did the lightning, then editing, then I started to make some free work, doing shoots with models. I mostly take pictures of people. I love to shoot on location and just use whatever is around in the area. That’s how I get creative.
I mainly work as a wedding photographer, and besides that I often make portraits. I’ll never forget the first time I photographed a wedding all by myself. And now I don’t even know the number of weddings I photographed!
First I used a Nikon D4
camera with a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8
Lens—a very good camera, and I made a lot of nice shots with it. Now I use the Panasonic Lumix GH5
and the Godox flash with tripod. I bought this camera because I can also use it to make short fashion films. The quality of the pictures and the films are really great. I’m happy that this camera can do both.
When I do a photoshoot at night I use continuous lightning with Manfrotto LED lights. Before I used a flash but it was hard to focus with my camera. So continuous lightning is a great option for me. My style of photography can be recognized by the way I use lightning.
And furthermore, I have a little collection of old cameras. I just use them for decoration. It’s amazing to see the development of cameras over the years!
