Cafa Liu

I am a wedding photographer based in Toronto. I record marriage moments from a special “Cafa” angle, and create love memories with passion.
I am a candid shot lover! I am invisible at the wedding, but when something happens, I will be there. For me, moments are the first important thing which I will focus on all day.
I have won some awards with PWPC, ISPWP and FEARLESS in the first three years of my career. I am not a story-maker, but a story-teller, telling love stories in an artistic way.
Usually, I only use one camera through all the wedding day session if possible. I don’t like changing my camera or lenses when something happens.
My favorite lens is the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4. I use this lens to shoot 90% of the wedding day.
Another two lenses I use a lot are the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8
. The reason I use them is because I’m either too far away or too close. I also have the Sigma ART 50mm f/1.4
.
Weight is the most important priority for me. I am not a sporty guy, so taking a dumbbell with me all day is not my style.
The second important thing for me is lens speed – I don’t like shooting in dark conditions with off-camera light because having an assistant is very expensive here in Canada.
Instead, I tend to buy a faster lens, and use the money I save for other things. I also carry 3 Nikon SB-900 Speed Lights and Pixel King flash triggers
in my pocket too – I use them when I have to do a group portrait in a dark room.
The two cameras I always bring with me to weddings are the Nikon D750 and Nikon D800
.
