Hi, I’m Chris! I have been a professional photographer since I graduated from photography school in 2004. I shot weddings for 6 years before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an on-set photographer.

I have worked on near to 20 films. I’ve also worked with a lot of actors and musicians in LA. I’m also a huge film photography enthusiast.

Here’s what’s in my bag!

Camera:

Canon 5D Mark III

My workhorse. I use my Canon 5D on set and for most jobs I book. It’s a reliable camera with great Canon color.  Because it’s obviously a digital camera I’m also able to turn photos around to clients quickly which is import for a lot of clients in Los Angeles.

Lens:

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8

The 24-70mm is what I use anytime I’m shooting an event or wedding. It’s a perfect “walk around lens.” It’s great for close up portraits and everything in between. A must-have for when I shoot weddings because I’m able to get great portraits of the bride and groom as well as a large family photo just by zooming out.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4

Can’t beat Canon glass. All three of these lenses are my go-to’s but I’d have to say my favorite focal length is 50mm. The focal length of the 50mm is perfect for portraits, and with the wide aperture of f/1.8 this lens gives you a ton of light coming through the lens opening. It’s pretty much the only lens I use for shooting concerts.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8

The 85mm is a great prime lens and is incredibly sharp, and when wide open at 1.8 this lens produces great bokeh! A go-to lens for any headshot session as well.

Pentax 645 75mm f/2.8

My beast! An amazing medium format film camera that I’m absolutely in love with. The scans I get back from the lab are unreal. The larger negative of medium format produces such amazing color and photo quality it really will set you apart as a photographer.

HoldFast money maker

A new addition to my bag and I honestly don’t know how I shot weddings and events before I owned one of these. Game changer. Plus, you look super badass!
