Hello! This is Ivana Pejak from Novi Sad, Serbia.

I am 22 years old and I study Film and TV editing at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

My interest for photography first showed around 6 years ago. I was still in high school and I explored multiple genres, from stock photography to fashion to landscape and documentary.

I found the most fun in portraits, which I still love to do even if it’s just with my phone while hanging around with a friend.

I enrolled at the Academy in 2016 in the camera department, so from photography I switched to film and videography, later transferring to the editing department. Now I find great love in film but still find some time to take some great photographs on the way.

Cameras

Nikon D5200 – Awesome small APS-C camera, I was amazed by its performance. With a great lens it can do a lot. I’ve done a lot of travel photography with it.

Nikon D610 – Ever since I saw the D600 series many years ago I wanted to buy it, and then finally I had it for some time. I loved doing portraiture with the D610 and some event photography (see guide).

Panasonic Lumix LX100 – I was stunned by the performance of this little guy. It fits in the pocket and is great for documentary and street photography. I can’t lie: I also did some amazing portrait photographs with it. I bought it mostly because of the video quality.

Panasonic GH5 – And finally transferring fully to video, I bought the GH5 which, even with its small sensor, is very good at some portrait shots. Of course it lacks the speed of a DSLR camera but it gives a very neat performance. Of course, the video and stabilization are perfect for the stuff I mostly do handheld.

Lenses

Nikon 50mm f/1.8 – Awesome low budget lens – I recommend it to everyone who is starting portrait photography.

Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 – Nice for close-ups.

Samyang 12mm f/2 – Manual lens mostly for video, but I love using it for multiple purposes because it is so small but so sharp.

Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art – Must-have lens for GH users, really sharp and with a Viltrox adapter it can go to F/1.2 which is helpful for MFT sensor cameras.

Lights/Triggers

For photography I mainly use natural light or practical light.
