Hi, my name is Izabela Rachwal. I am a travel and portrait photographer. I am originally from Krakow, Poland, but am now based in Winnipeg, Canada.
I travel all over the world capturing beautiful locations and taking portraits of people I meet along the way.
My career began in fashion photography where I learned many of the skills that I use in my portrait work.
I have always had a passion for travel and a desire to explore the world and immerse myself in other cultures. I have traveled alone extensively for pleasure and started bringing my big camera on my backpacking trips, never wanting to miss the perfect shot. And here I am now.
As a photographer I want my viewer to be in awe. To be captivated by nature and to be inspired to get out of the house, town, country and see what an incredibly beautiful world we live in.
My goal is for my audience to feel similar emotions to those that I experience when seeing the most striking vistas.
I shoot primarily with Nikon and Sigma equipment. I love these companies and appreciate how they keep up with customers’ needs, always producing the best gear.
I also like how sturdy the equipment is and that is very important for me as I travel and hike a lot. My gear needs to be water-resistant and work even in tough situations.
For editing, I mainly use Lightroom and Photoshop with my own presets that I have custom created. I like my photos to look moody although I appreciate vibrant colors and sometimes need to edit work differently for my individual clients.
Here is a list of most of my gear:

Nikon 20mm f/1.4
Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4
