Hi, my name is Jim Jordan. I am a celebrity, fashion, and lifestyle photographer, talent manager, and film / commercial director.

I first began taking pictures when I was 13 years old. I would run around to all the local middle and high schools, searching for kids who I thought could model. I would do the hair and make-up, and my neighbor taught me how to use a film camera. I would then send these kids and their photos into model agencies in LA to get them representation.

This is where I began my passion for creating images, and making people feel beautiful in them.

I now shoot many different editorial and fashion brands such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, and De Beers Diamonds, to name a few.

I have also had the opportunity to open up a talent management company, White Cross Management. My team and I manage about 50 different models, actors, and musicians who I have had the pleasure of developing. I have had the pleasure of scouting, managing, and developing some amazing people like Taylor Hill, Gigi Hadid, and Jeremy Meeks, to name a few.

In terms of camera gear: I have used hundreds of different cameras over my career such as Hasselblad H6D-400c, Phase One IQ4, Sony a7R III, and Nikon D850, Canon 5Ds, to name a few, but I have found my favorite camera for my workflow to be the Canon 5D Mark III. However, depending on the client, I still may use a different camera that they prefer.

I love shooting with the 5D Mark III paired with the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L. The zoom allows me to quickly find new perspectives and angles on the fly. I shoot with Lexar Professional and Sandisk Extreme Pro Compact Flash cards to capture my images. For my storage solutions, I have a Synology RAID which holds all my files and backs up to a second location nightly.

In terms of lighting on set, I love working with the amazing new technology that Kino Flo is producing in the LED world, as well as other amazing brands like Profoto strobes and powerpacks, Sunbounce, and Lowel DP.

For my photo processing, I currently use Capture One to make all my color corrections and image cropping. I love the interface and how powerful the software is.

My office team currently uses an amazing software called Daylite by Market Circle. This program is used for everything to help manage my time and client contacts. We use Daylite for our client contact database, scheduling, project tasks and deadlines, and email tracking and organizing. It truly helps the front end of my business stay organized and I couldn’t recommend it more.
