Sascha Glück

Wedding | Last Updated: December 24, 2020

Hello All, my name is Sascha Glück. I was born in Germany but have been living in Cancun, Mexico for almost half of my life. I have been a wedding photographer here and in surrounding areas for the past 10 years.

I left Germany in my early 20’s to travel and explore the globe backpacking with my waterproof point and shoot film camera. I had no idea that I would end up as a wedding photographer in Mexico :)

After years working in Egypt as a scuba diving instructor and underwater photographer, I traveled to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and immediately fell in love with Mexico and its people. 10 years ago I decided to step out of the underwater world and give wedding photography a chance, and I haven’t regretted it since. Now, I am a full-time wedding photographer living in Cancun with my wife Lili, my daughter Luna and my Rhodesian Ridgeback Atu…. Life is Good!!

I started shooting weddings with Nikon and I still shoot with Nikon. Like everyone’s grandfather use to say: Don’t fix things that ain’t broken!

Nikon D4: She’s true, will never let you down, and the colors and quality are amazing. A bit heavy but well worth it.

Nikon D700: It’s a shame that Nikon discontinued this camera. I like its lightness and quality.

Nikon 35mm f/1.4: fast and sharp. 80% of the time I have this lens attached.

Nikon 85mm f/1.8: I use this lens for portraits and most of the “couple session.” I like its bokeh and light weight.

Nikon 60mm f/2.8: Mostly for rings and details

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8: Mostly for the reception or to include as much of the landscape as possible.

Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8: My reception lens. Close or wide in a matter of seconds.

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8: Amazing Lens but way too heavy to carry around all the time. Most of the time this lens stays home.

Nikon SB-900 flashes: Because they work great with all my Nikon Cameras :)

Pocket Wizard: the old ones with the antenna :) They just need to trigger the flash and nothing more.

Monopod: I like my flashes off camera.
