Hi my name is Temi Coker and I am a photographer / visual artist. I fell in love with photography back in 2011 and it grew into something way bigger than I thought.
I remember falling in love with portraits of people because there was just something intimate about photographing someone in their element.
I learned quickly that as a photographer it’s my job to capture the beauty of someone. I don’t approach photography to make beautiful images, the world and the people in it are beautiful, I just get to capture the beauty from a unique perspective and share it with the world.
My go-to gear is my Sony a7R III
+ Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Lens
. I love that the 35 isn’t too wide or too close. It makes for a great portrait lens as well (in my opinion). I also bring out my Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8
lens for that extra depth of field when needed.
I also own a Sony a7II
which my wife now uses and it’s an amazing camera as well. We switched to the Sony A7 Series because of the versatility and power that comes with such a small body and lens.
I am currently part of the Sony Alpha Collective which has been an amazing group to be part of. Everyone in it shoots Sony (duh) and we get to see how everyone’s eye functions.
A great camera and lens are good, but if you don’t have an eye for photography it’ll be hard to bring things to life and capture the beauty around you in a unique way.
My wife and I use to shoot weddings and the Sony a7R III
and a7II
were an amazing pair. Great battery life (as long as your airplane mode is on).
We have a few batteries for each camera and charge them all before heading to our shoots. I love how versatile the a7R III
is and how it can be used for commercial work as well.
It’s 42 Megapixels so if need be I can crop and still get amazing quality. The only drawback is that the files are big, but I have a big SD card that transfers files very fast so that definitely helps.
Also included in my gear shot is the Instax wide 300
which I use when hanging out with friends or parties. The rx100
I use to make tutorial videos and also use it to shoot, it’s small and compact so I can literally fit it in my pocket.
