Tomer Sabag
Wedding | Last Updated: April 4, 2024
My name is Tomer Sabag and I am a wedding photographer based in Afula, Israel. I started shooting 25 years ago, and I like to document human relationships.
I try to imagine the scene at the top to catch people’s feelings or interesting good source of light. I am a photographer since the age of 16. My father was also a photographer who shot with Nikon, which is why I have continued to shoot with Nikon as I still have his lenses.
I have always had a strong relationship with trying to capture raw images and really what better than to document something deep and moving than a wedding. I started in 1998 and almost immediately I started to build my career as a wedding photographer.
Camera
My main camera body Nikon D3S is my favorite camera. Its speed and sharpness really suits my style of shooting!
My other body is a Nikon D4. I love to work without any obstructions. With the Nikon D4 I take advantage of the super quick auto focus and sharp image capture to grab whatever moment when it occurs.
Flash
Weddings offer so many unique lighting challenges, I have some flash lights – three Nikon SB-900 – I love them!
Lenses
Nikon 70-200mm VR II MM f/2.8 – I use this to photograph my engagement sessions and also to capture moments during the wedding. This lens just helps stop my client getting stressed, because I can remain a distance away from them using the zoom.
Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 I like to shoot with lens. It allows me to obtain images with unusual perspectives and a different kind of fun.
Nikon 85mm f/1.4G AF-S- I love the lens. I like how it focuses quickly and the appearance of the images.
Nikon 24-70 mm f/2.8 – It’s the best middle-zoom that Nikon makes.
Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF – I use it to take a few shots of wedding rings and jewelry (guide) that link to the event.
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 – cheaper than the equivalent Nikon, and, in my opinion, it provides a more complete performance.
Nikon 16mm f/2.8 FISHEYE – this lens gives a unique perspective and is still versatile and provides a superior optical performance. I use it for Interior shots and for shots of architecture.
Helios-40 85mm f/1.5 – Depending on the mood and my situation, I like to this unusual lens.
Glass prism – I like to use every source of light and reflection. I collect each piece of glass with an interesting reflection to use in these situations.
LED Lenser torch – I like to use this sometimes for lighting my subjects.
I also carry a pen, Lenspen, gum, tie, business cards and for my memory cards I use my Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket.
Holdfast Money Maker – this strap is very comfortable and carries both my cameras at the same time.
LowePro Pro-Trekker 600 AW – this fits all my equipment in the one bag.
