Hi, my name is Viktoria Haack. I’m from the UK but now based in BC, Canada. I shoot many different genres of photography: portrait, lifestyle, wedding, landscape, adventure and the list goes on. I am the happiest when shooting anything that has a heavy dose of nature as part of its content.
I have been working professionally as a photographer for over 11 years now. I regularly lead workshops and work as a freelance photography writer for a number of online and print publications.
I have all sorts of gear but the Shotkit image shows the basic staple of what’s in my camera bag. It also shows my hairy sidekick who is by my side on most occasions, Jack the Alaskan Malamute.
I shoot with an all Nikon kit.
My current camera bodies are the Nikon D4 and Nikon D800
. My wide angle is the Nikon 17-35 f/2.8
and my favorite portrait lens is the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8
. I also have the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8
, Nikon 105 mm macro
, a Nikon 85 mm f/1.8
and a Nikon 50 mm f/1.4
.
I am thinking that the Nikon mirrorless system may be part of my future!
I am a Lowepro global ambassador so am lucky enough to have a wide range of camera bags for different occasions. If I had to choose just one bag though, it would be the Whistler BP 450 AW11. It’s my all round favourite as it is so robust and comfortable!
Amongst my kit is a Lowepro filter holder containing a mixture of different filters including Formatt Hitech, Lee and Daryl Benson. My filter holder and adaptor rings are all Formatt Hitech
.
I have a couple of different cable releases: one is a screw-in and the other is a remote release that I often use if I want to be a part of the image I am taking.
My memory cards are all Lexar Professionals. My Petzl headlamp
is always part of my kit. I often end up in dark places or out longer than expected and it’s great to have a headlamp just in case.
The small, white, circular thing on the bottom right is a squeaker! Jack (my dog) loves to save them from his stuffy toys and I then add them to my kit. I find them useful if I suddenly need to get the attention of a person, child or animal.
