Yvo Greutert

Wedding | Last Updated: April 18, 2023

I am Yvo Greutert, a Swiss photographer based both in Zurich and Barcelona. I came into wedding photography after some experience in the fashion photography industry in Paris in 2018.

In the last few decades, I possessed gear from Minolta, Leica, Fuji, Nikon Canon and finally Sony.

I decided to switch to Sony mirrorless because, in wedding photography, speed is crucial. At the time, the autofocus system was the best in Sony cameras, therefore I decided to go with it. I also love the high ISO capabilities, the silent mode, the lightweight and the possibility to see the image in the finder while taking the shot.

Cameras

I use two Sony 7RIII. I love the fact that I have 42MP, as this allows me to go in crop mode and still have almost a 24MP image. I like that I can use 24mm and 50mm and have also 35mm and 85mm by going into crop mode.

Lenses

I have the following lenses:

Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM
Sony 35 mm f/1.4
Sony 50 mm f/1.4
Sony 85mm f/1.8
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8

I generally use fixed focal lenses as I love to shoot at f/1.4 – just for the ceremony, I tend to use the 28-75mm. However, my favorite lens is the 35/1.4 from Sony.

Lights/Triggers

I use two flash lights, the Godox V1 and the Godox V860II-S plus the Godox X2T-S Transmitter. I tend to use natural light and I especially love to shoot into the sun, as this gives a romantic look to the photo.

Bags/Straps

I use the Holdfast MoneyMaker. It looks very good and is very handy. At a wedding you will need two cameras, it is a must to have a strap.

Hardware & Software

I edit my photos with Lightroom. I developed my own presets.

Misc.

Sunscreen, wound patches, dry fruits, lots of batteries and SD cards!

Final Words

As a wedding photographer, the best thing is the reward, the great atmosphere with the bridal couples, the travelling and the challenges that each wedding brings with it. So try to have fun at your weddings and enjoy the journey!
