How to Cancel a Canva Subscription
Taking a break from your Canva subscription is easy and doesn’t have to be permanent.
Below we’ve answered some of the common questions concerning canceling your Canva Pro subscription.
What will happen to saved designs and uploads?
So, what will happen to all the fantastic designs you created and saved into your Canva account? And what will happen to the images you uploaded?
Canva won’t delete your designs. It will keep them saved for you, along with all your uploads and Brand Kit features.
If at any point in the future you want to dive back into Canva and begin a new design adventure, they will all be there waiting for you.
If you don’t want Canva to save your designs, you can delete them all before you cancel your Canva subscription.
What is the best time to cancel?
When you cancel a Canva subscription, you can access all of Canva’s Pro account features until the account’s billing period has finished.
For example, if your billing begins on the first of each month, then your account will be closed on the last day of the month.
When the billing period has ended, your account will be downgraded to a free Canva subscription, and you will no longer have access to premium features.
The best time for you to close the account depends on how you use Canva, and if you will still need to access the premium account features over the coming months.
Pause an account
If you just need a break from your Canva account and don’t want to cancel your subscription, you can choose to pause your Canva subscription.
Canva gives you the option to pause your Canva subscription for 3 months.
The pause begins once the current billing period has finished, and your account will be automatically reinstated once the period of three months is up.
Cancel after only one month
So you thought you’d need a Canva premium account but after only two weeks you realize now you don’t need it. What do you do?
No problem, Canva will let you cancel the subscription after only one month.
Deleting an account
You might prefer to complete the sign out of Canva for good, and say a permanent goodbye.
One word of caution if you want to delete your account instead of canceling it – be sure to cancel your subscription first.
Technical hitches can happen and Canva might unknowingly continue to charge you.
If you delete your account instead of canceling it, be aware that all of your folders, designs, and uploads will be permanently deleted.
Teams and apps will also be deleted.
The option remains to leave your account on a free subscription, silently humming in virtual reality waiting for your return.
