Hi my name is Jacek Gąsiorowski.
I am a commercial, photojournalist, and wedding photographer.
Above all, I am an artist who has been taking photos with analog cameras for twenty years.
I am particularly passionate about my medium-format Hasselblad 500 C/M, paired with a Planar 50mm f/2.8 lens, which I have been using for twenty years.
When I started shooting with analog cameras, I launched my project, called “Life Time Project,” which serves as my online portfolio.
As I mentioned, my main camera is an analog, medium-format Hasselblad 500 C/M, and I like to load it with Kodak Portra 160 or 400 film.
Apart from that, I also enjoy using a panoramic, Lomographic 135 Horizon 202 film camera and a Lomographic, medium-format Agfa II camera, which I load with expired ORWO BW film to achieve the multiple exposure effect. I also often use the Polaroid i-Type, which I enjoy using for the same multiple exposure effect.
Professionally, I work with the Canon R system in reportage, commercial, and wedding shoots.
Canon R5, Canon R6, Canon R6 MK2, and lenses with both RF mounts, such as Canon RF 35mm f/1.8, as well as EF mount lenses, such as Canon EF 135mm f/2 L, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L, and Sigma Art 805mm f/1.4 DG.
I was a finalist in the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards of 2023 in the Portfolio category in the Professionals section, and this year’s Nikon Film/Photo Contest 2024-2025 – Special Encouragement Awards.
I am also the author of many individual and collective exhibitions.
For many years, I was a journalist and columnist for the industry photography magazine Digital Camera Poland. Since spring, I have resumed my collaboration with this magazine by publishing spreads featuring my projects.
I love using analog photographic equipment for my creative and artistic work. It is consistent with the slow, conscious, and experimental process of creation and observation.
Digital cameras are ideal for professional, reportage work, as they provide the certainty and security of capturing many technically excellent frames for later selection and editing. These two worlds complement each other in me. Commercial work provides the means to meet my basic needs.
Award-winning and recognized at international competitions, artistic photography provides strong motivation and fuel for commercial work. Organizing, producing exhibitions, and participating in vernissages.
Seeing my own work in large, framed prints hanging on the walls is a feeling of fulfillment. This feeling cannot be replaced by anything else, and I wish it upon all artists who use photography as a medium to express their emotions artistically.
2014

My photographic adventure started with the Canon EOS 300D. After three years of shooting digital camera I discovered the wonderful world of analog medium format photography.
I started using Hasselblad 500c/m and a plastic medium format toy camera, Agfa Click II. In the meantime, I used a Polaroid Spectra and a panoramic Horizon 202. Today, for the commercial and wedding orders I use the Canon EOS 5D II and Canon EOS 6D. I have some lenses, Canon 85mm f/1.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon 35mm f/2, Canon 17-40mm f/4.
To measure the light in the analog Hasselblad I use Sekonic L-208 TwinMate. With Hasselblad I have only the standard lens Planar 80mm f/2.8.
For analog medium format photographs, I use Kodak Portra 160 or Kodak Portra 400 VC negatives and Ilford HP5 + and Kodak Tri -X 400 for the b/w photography. For the scanning negatives I use Epson Photo 4990 (see best photo scanner guide) and for developing digital raw files I use Adobe Lightroom software.
For street shooting, I often use my smartphone Nokia 808 PureView with the superb quality 40 megapixel matrix.
