Sports | Last Updated: December 15, 2020

Since 1995, I’ve been an active snowboarder, skateboarder and motocross rider myself. The love for these and other extreme sports has transitioned into a career as an action sports photographer.

I’m truly blessed for these action sports allow me to travel the world and be working in the most beautiful sceneries. Being able to work with dedicated athletes, produce the most epic content and capture their passion keeps me motivated more than anything.

On a shooting day, I like to get up early arranging my backpack as light as possible while packing the essentials. I use a F-Stop Tilopa because of its large internal space and sturdy sleek design, which offers the camera protection and has a good support while following athletes to remote places.

During the shoot I try to chart the location for the most creative angles. I love shooting with my Nikon D4 and Nikon D810. The Nikon D4 is quick and perfect for action sports and the Nikon D810 is a great portrait and stills camera with an awesome dynamic range and super crisp resolution.

My favorite lenses are the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 because of their versatility. While traveling myself, I carry my Fuji X-T1 with the Fuji 27mm f/2.8 lens for its lightweight advantage.

I like to work with flash but because most of my shoots are outdoor and in harsh terrain I use Elinchrom ELB 400 Quadra’s, they are small, lightweight, still powerful and super rigid.

List of equipment in my bags or for studio photography:

Nikon D4
Nikon D810
Fuji X-T1 with Fuji 27mm f/2.8 lens
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8

Nikon 85mm f/1.8D (great portrait lens, beautiful depth of field)
Nikon 1.7x teleconverter
Nikon 45mm f/2.8D ED PC-E Micro (Tilt-Shift lens, perfect for architecture but also great for portraits)
Nikon SB-900 and Nikon SB-800
3x Elinchrom ELB 400 Quadra’s with 5 flash heads
Elinchrom Reflector 50°
Elinchrom High Performance Reflector 48° (I use this to light a subject from a greater distance)
2x Elinchrom Rotalux Softbox 90×110 cm

3x Elinchrom portable Tripods 52-190 cm

I’ve chosen most of my equipment based on its light weight and durability in harsh conditions.
