Luminar 4 for Wedding Photographers

With the release of Luminar 4, I take a look at whether it's a viable post production tool to edit wedding photos. Can it work well with Adobe Lightroom?

If you’d told me a few months ago that the image editing software Luminar could be used effectively by professional wedding photographers, I would have rolled my eyes.

Sure, Luminar 3 offered some powerful post-processing tools, and had an attractive ‘one-off’ price tag, but aside from that, it was definitely not suited to high volume wedding photography.

However, since my spending a few weeks on an in-depth Luminar 4 review, my feelings have changed…

While I don’t believe that Luminar 4 can replace Lightroom for wedding photographers, I do believe it can work in tandem… and provide considerable value as well.

As long as you use each software for their specific strengths, I genuinely think the latest release of Luminar 4 can be a great tool to use alongside Lightroom when editing wedding images.

Watch the video above to see how easy it is to get your photos from Luminar to Lightroom and back again – you simply ‘borrow’ Luminar’s AI tools from the Lightroom module (like a plugin), and return back to Lightroom when done.

In this way, you can still use Lightroom’s superior file management/exporting functionalities to finish the job and deliver the images to your client.

Let me know what you think of this workflow in the comments, and don’t forget to use our exclusive Luminar 4 discount if you decide this powerful software is right for you.
