Hi! My name is Mariano Sfiligoy. I’m a father, a husband and a wedding photographer since 2011. I grew up surrounded by film cameras and black and white photos, each telling stories of my family. At home, the bath was a darkroom.

Since the moment I started photographing, I was always looking for the best cameras and lenses but then, I realised that smaller gear was an important contribution to my photos.

Today I travel light which allows me to get close to the action and document weddings as I see them in my mind.

For that reason, I decided in late 2014 switch from Nikon Df to Fujifilm X-T1. From Reflex to Mirrorless.

I use 2 FujiFilm X-T1‘s, usually one with a FujiFilm 23mm f/1.4 and the other with a FujiFilm 56mm f/1.2 and I also love my Ricoh GR. It’s amazing …

I kept the Nikon DF with a Nikon 35mm f/2 lens, but I don’t use it at weddings. I just have it for the love of reflex cameras.

Here’s a list of the gear I use:

2 x Fujifilm X-T1 Mirrorless Digital Camera ( firmware 3.0): Normally I use one with 23mm and one with the 56mm. The camera is accurate, small, light and the screen is amazing.

Fujifilm 18mm f/2 XF R Lens : it is a small lens, sharp and very comfortable to shoot with during the party. I really like this focal length.

Fujifilm 23mm f/1.4 R Lens: equivalent to the famous 35mm, this lens is the best I step through my hands. 1000% recommended.

Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 XF R Lens: by its size and focal length my favorite when I go out with a single camera.

Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R Lens: the best !!! I can only say this !!! The best.

Ricoh GR Digital Camera: my little favorite, the ninja camera. I use it for my photographs of the street and during the party … always with me.

Nikon SB-910 and Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight: Are the flash that I have my camera Nikon! Definitely very good teams and not change it for now.

Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V6: until recently used the PocketWizard TT1 and PocketWizard TT5, but I found these and they are very good ones, I can use any camera to any flash. this makes them very interesting.

NEXTO DI ND2901 1TB Portable Memory Card Backup Storage: My cameras have a single slot, so little use GB memory and support during the event, always with me.

Fujifilm instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-1, is one of the things I most enjoy about Fujifilm – I can give people small pictures whenever I want.

I love, love, LOVE the shot of the pug running toward the camera with the bride & groom in the background!

I have been meaning to make the switch from Canon to Fuji for the same purpose of being able to travel light while also being a little more inconspicuous during a wedding function.

I tend to use the speed-lights a lot owing to bad lighting conditions in most night time weddings in India. How do you use the Nikon flashes with the Fujis? Because I did not notice any speed lights from Fuji in your kit

Oh! Wait! Just realised that’s a stupid question because you’ve already answered that in the article :D
