Apple to Host its Major iPhone 15-Related Event on Sept 12th

News | By Stephan Jukic | August 30, 2023

On September 12th, Apple will be hosting its annual product announcement event at the company’s Cupertino headquarters.

The event, which kicks off at 10 a.m., is an annual Apple ritual and will almost certainly involve a big reveal of the brand’s latest generation iPhone 15 models.

With the big reveal of the iPhone and its variant models, Apple will finally put ongoing speculation about their features and specs to rest.

Each year these along with the event itself generate lots of free publicity for the tech corporation, given the near cult-like following the brand enjoys from millions of fans.

For 2023, you can look forward to finally seeing what kinds of new cameras and other features Apple’s expected iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max versions come packed with.

Other less headline-worthy announcements that Apple will probably make on September 12th involve a new Apple Watch lineup that includes the Apple Watch Series 9, and an upgrade to the brand’s Apple Watch Ultra.

one Apple analyst (apparently this profession exists) had claimed that the iPhone 15 models will likely come with stacked camera sensors. However, more recent claims around these phones claim that this photographic feature might be put off until the iPhone 16.

One other interesting feature that we might see in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a periscope zoom lens that gives its camera 5x to 6x optical zoom functionality.

This feature, which we covered earlier here, will likely only be available in the iPhone 15 Pro Max editions because of its hardware bulk.

The other iPhone 15 editions will however get their own “significant” camera updates too.

The Pro and Pro Max editions of the new phones might also come with Apple’s first-ever 3-nanometer A17 chipset.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus versions will however probably only feature the A16 chip that’s already in the iPhone 14.

On the other hand, these “cheaper” iPhone 15 phones will possibly come with the Dynamic Island interface and 48MP rear cameras that are currently only available in the Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 14.

Other more minor changes that fans of each year’s new iPhone releases might also look forward to at the 2023 announcement include slimmer bezels, slight changes to the curves of the phones and a titanium body for the iPhone Pro editions.

If you’re curious about tuning into Apple’s event on September 12th, you can watch it streamed live on the company’s website or through the Apple TV app.
