Fashion, Fine Art, Portrait | Last Updated: February 3, 2021

I am a French Fashion and Fine Art photographer, obsessed with creative lighting. I have always used Canon cameras, beginning with the Canon EOS 50E, an analog reflex that I used in my teenager years.

When I needed to turn to digital photography, I chose the 5D Mark II because it was a one-of-a kind camera: lightweight (for the time), it was offering full frame sensor, high definition (20MP) and video recording.

After a few years of using Canon products, I became the youngest Canon Ambassador in 2011 and turned to the EOS 1Dx for its uncommon versatility. I was easily able to shoot Fashion, Sports and Architecture with just one camera. As a young photographer it may be difficult to specialize in a field too fast, and having a camera able to meet any situation was a tremendous advantage.

I then turned to the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV because I was looking for a lighter camera. I added the EOS M6 to have a small body I can bring everywhere and use for backstage images. In my studio I shoot with the 5D Mark IV tethered with a Gigabyte Aero 15X (yes, I am a very disappointed ex-Apple user).

Talking about lenses – the 70-200mm f/2.8 was for years the lens that I used the most. I enjoyed being far away from the models and using the strong bokeh to cut them from their environment, but sometimes I felt that the deformations were too strong, especially when shooting beauty, so I turned to the 85mm f/1.2 as my (almost) daily lens.

With the EOS M6 I use the 24mm f/1.4, as it’s an APS-C camera, it gives an equivalent to a 35mm. I think this focal length is just perfect for backstage: it’s close to human vision while adding a subtle ‘drama’ to the images.

The other lenses are more occasional lenses that I use on specific projects.

I also am a heavy filter user. Most of the time the ND8 filter will allow me to shoot with a wide open aperture, but the Black pro mist ¼ can give a very organic and analog feel to Canon’s very sharp lenses.
