Greg Cromie out and about on the streets of Melbourne

This is me in my natural habitat with my Fujifilm X-E4 and Fujifilm XF23mmF2

Hey there! My name is Greg Cromie and I'm a Melbourne photographer, content creator and author.

I studied film photography in art school before smartphones, the internet or digital cameras existed. Today I exclusively shoot with Fujifilm X-Series cameras and lenses as the tactile design, functionality, performance, and output suit my workflow perfectly.

My core artistic photography genres are travel and street photography.

I'm fascinated with all things Japan and have travelled to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima many times. On such travels, and in my street photography work around Melbourne, I apply a methodology of documenting how people interact with their world.

I love capturing the candid, unscripted, and fleeting moments in life.

I professionally photograph weddings, parties, events, portraits, and products.

More often than not, my photography is accompanied by some form of written content to support and enhance the narrative. Since 2015 I've written for my blog site documenting my experiences as a photographer.

As a content creator and author, I've written thoughtful and professional articles, ebooks, educational pieces, product reviews, previews, interviews, marketing guides, and product launch announcements. My content supports clients from single-store film labs, national camera store chains, global brand suppliers, and Shotkit.com.

When I'm not out and about on a shoot, planning my next trip to Japan, or tapping away at my keyboard, I'm a partner to Sacha and a parent to five amazing kids.

Sacha and I share a love of Japanese culture and much of our time together involves some form of a Japanese meal, shopping for Japanese stationery, or ordering Japanese homewares. I'm a bit of a nerd and love to play Nintendo video games and build LEGO sets in my spare time.
